About me

Saying yes has been both my strength and my weakness. As a curious engineer, I've always jumped into new challenges without knowing what lies ahead. Leading a team to build a Flutter app, migrating a brittle legacy codebase to a modern framework, taking on a gnarly performance problem on a complex web page. You get the idea.

I dislike treating new tech like a black box. I'd rather dissect the source code and documentation first, understand how it works, whether it actually fits the use case, and have a fighting chance when things go wrong.

As a former product designer, I pixel-match everything and push to be involved in the design phase early. There's a quiet satisfaction in shipping something that's both robust under the hood and sharp on the surface. But just as much as I love building products users enjoy, I also get a kick out of making life easier for fellow engineers. Automating painful workflows, speeding up build times and seeing the impact directly is just as rewarding.
